In general, thermoplastics are materials that become pliable when heated to a specific temperature and solidify upon cooling. Common types of thermoplastics include ABS, Nylon (PA), PLA, polycarbonate (PC), polyethylene and other specialty, high-performance materials.

After explaining the difference between thermoplastics and thermosets in the last video, the focus will be on the material science of thermoplastics. In order to successfully use the material group in industrial additive manufacturing, it is vital to fully understand the material-process interaction.
